Ancient Monuments

Clay Cross Parish Council does not own or look after any ancient monuments in the Parish. However, there are many in Derbyshire that you may wish to visit.

The Clay Cross Tunnel opened in December 1839 runs under the town centre. The northern portal is a magnificent Moorish design and is now Grade II listed. The south portal is also Grade II listed.
