Clay Cross Town Centre is to undergo a major redevelopment in the very near future.

The regeneration programme is set to improve our town centre for the benefit of both general public and businesses.

The Town Centre Regeneration project includes the following key elements:

• Forming a new town square, to be called 'Baileys Square' which will be at the heart of the redevelopments.
This area will provide flexible accommodation for businesses in pop-up enterprises and space for community activities.

• Pedestrianisation of Market Street, creating more public space for visitors.

• Improved transport and connections, including improved traffic flow.

• Repurposing existing buildings into quality food, drink and leisure opportunities around the public square.

Construction is due to begin Summer 2024 by contractors 'Inside Limited'.

The redevelopment also encompasses the demolition of the former Sharley Park Leisure Centre, making way for 'Clay Cross Active'. This new local leisure facility includes swimming pool, gym and community hub and it set to open in the Autumn of 2024.
