Remembrance Sunday Parade and Service including Notice of Road Closure
CLAY CROSS PARISH COUNCIL INVITE ALL RESIDENTS OF THE PARISH TO PARTICIPATE IN THE REMEMBRANCE DAY PARADE AND SERVICE OF REMEMBRANCE ON SUNDAY 10 NOVEMBER 2024.
THE PARADE WILL MEET UP IN THE ICELAND CAR PARK ON MARKET STREET AT 9.30AM AND MARCH OFF AT 9.45AM PROMPT LED BY DERBYSHIRE ACF, B COMPANY, CLAY CROSS DETACHMENT TO ST BARTHOLOMEWS CHURCH ON HIGH STREET FOR THE CHURCH SERVICE AND ACT OF REMEMBRANCE INCLUDING THE LAYING OF WREATHS ON THE CENOTAPH.
To allow the Parade and Service of Remembrance to take place safely, road closures will be in place in the town centre from 9.30AM until approximately 11.30AM.
The following roads will be affected:
Entrance to Iceland car park, including Market Street and junction of Broadleys
Junction of Eyre Street /Market Street including the bus station
A61: Junction of Holmgate Road/Eyre Street.
A61: Top of Market Street
A61: Junction of King Street
A61: Junction of Thanet Street/Clay Lane
Marshalls will be in attendance to enforce this road closure and offer assistance with alternative routes.
We ask that our Marshalls are listened to and treated with respect.
